Recent data from a report by MIT Sloan Management Review and Deloitte sheds some interesting light on the importance and impact of social business. Nearly 90% of companies see social business as important over a three year horizon. Social business is equally important in B-to-B transactions as in B-to-C transactions. More than half of all employees aged 22-52 say that they prefer to work for a company that has sophisticated social business practices. The three primary drivers of social business are:

  1. Using social business to make decisions
  2. Having a leadership vision premised on the belief that social can fundamentally change the business
  3. Moving social business beyond marketing to realize that vision
