Description :

BeyondEggs-logo-300x300Beyond Eggs is an egg-free, plant based product designed to replace eggs in cooking. The product has already been used to create an egg-free mayonnaise subsitute called Just Mayo. These products are all being launched by a company called Hampton Creek foods that was founded in 2011 by Josh Tetrick. The product is being driven by Tetrick's desire to bring healthier, more affordable food to the world. Hampton Creek has raised more than $30 million from many big backers such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Yahoo founder Jerry Yang, PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel and Hong Kong business magnate Li Ka-shing, who has been ranked the wealthiest man in Asia. People don't think about all of the eggs that go into products that they consume but when it comes to expense and sustainability, removing eggs from products will greatly get costs down on a whole because it is cheaper to grow plants than to raise cages egg laying chickens. The egg substitute costs 48% less than normal eggs because 70% of the cost of a chicken egg comes from the feed and water for the chickens.
