The first technology that will probably have a large impact is autonomous self-driving vehicles. This could eliminate jobs such as taxi driver, delivery trucks and long-haul truck drivers. Fully-automated robotic cars are already a reality and are driving around Mountain View, California. In addition to Google, Uber is also investing large amounts of money into this technology.
The next technology that will have a big impact is more dexterous robots. The latest industrial robots can do such things as install circuit boards and even thread needles today. A robot that can do this is not too terribly expensive, it costs just $40,000. As adoption of this kind of robot picks up costs will come down even further. So, lots of factory positions could be eliminated.
The final technology that is being perfected right now is information analysis. This technology could impact analysis heavy positions like physicians, lawyers, accountants and stock brokers.
