The US navy develops cannon-launched drones that can fly autonomously.
The military's swarm robots move from sea to air with a new program to shoot
drones.
They are developed by officials at the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and parts of the Low-Cost UAV Swarming Technology (LOCUST) program.
They are an important step on the way to the 2016 ship-based demonstration of 30 rapidly launched autonomous, swarming UAVs.
